Forces Support Programme
There are currently thousands of British Troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. When the troops return to the UK, many find they are suffering from the harrowing effects of stress caused by conflict. This programme has been designed by Lindy to try and help manage and limit these effects.
The FSP (Forces Support Programme) has been set up to help members of the Armed Forces who are serving or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan, and who are suffering the after effects of these conflicts, such as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Nightmares, Flashbacks, Stress, Anxiety, and Insomnia. The programme is NOT meant to replace conventional health care from GPs or Medical Consultants. Rather it should be viewed as an additional tool to help manage any symptoms.
Obviously, demand for the programme is likely to be very high, so I would urge any therapist or coach who has the required qualifications and experience, and who would like to get on board, to contact me through the website. At present, the programme is only being offered to Scottish based soldiers. This is due to both location and expected demand.
The programme works by offering each client a minimum of 3 sessions. These will be at absolutely no cost to the client and there is no obligation or requirement to book further treatments. The sessions will each last approximately 1 hour and will take place at my office in Argyle Street in Glasgow. Clients will be taught self-hypnosis so that they can continue to manage their symptoms even after their sessions are finished.
To book on the programme please email through the contact page or call Lindy on 0141 221 8033.
The following conditions should be noted:
- If any client is a known epileptic, has suffered any form of seizure activity in the past or has been diagnosed with severe mental illness, I would require a GP or Consultants letter of approval before any treatment.
- It is recommended that clients inform their GP/Medical Consultant of their intention to participate in the programme, and to take/comply with any advice given by them
- If any client is involved with legal proceedings due to their symptoms or is likely to proceed with a case in the future, it is strongly recommended they speak with a legal representative before any treatment.
- If a client books on the programme and subsequently cancels within the 24 hour notice of cancellation period, or fails to show they will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list for treatments.
- All clients on the programme must have served in Iraq or Afghanistan and be based in Scotland.
- Lindy cannot vouch for any of the coaches or therapists who volunteer their services on the programme, and it is therefore recommended that clients check the credentials of their therapist or coach prior to any treatment.
