Lindy Irving has become one of Scotland’s most popular personal development professionals, and is in demand as a Speaker, Trainer and Coach in the UK, Middle East and Asia.
In 1991, after leaving a lengthy abusive and unhealthy relationship, and armed with no qualifications and no money, but a whole bunch of debt, and with a 4-year-old and 2-year-old to raise, Lindy was determined to create a better life and future for her family. She was successful in joining the Scottish Ambulance Service and spent the next 12 years as an Ambulance Paramedic in the NHS, during which time she became the first female Paramedic in North Ayrshire and the first female Paramedic in Scotland to gain a position with Helimed 5, Scotland’s Ambulance Helicopter, and has won various awards including being voted runner-up in the prestigious NHS Health Service Awards.
In 2002, Lindy suffered a complete physical and mental breakdown and spent the next 2 years battling PTSD and severe clinical depression, but despite losing her career, her salary, her savings and her home, she managed to regain full health.
Lindy was again determined to turn things around and embark on a new career. So in 2005, using her extensive medical background as well as her experience as a regular speaker within various Hospitals, Schools, Clubs, Colleges and local Businesses Lindy became a Speaker, Trainer, and qualified Life Coach.
Lindy has appeared in numerous magazines and press articles, and has made a number of TV appearances, as well as having been nominated for a number of awards including the UK NHS awards and Evening Times Local Hero Awards, and in 2009 she appeared as a Consultant Life Coach in a 6-part TV series for the BBC.
Since that time, in addition to gaining an MA (Hons) Psychology from the University of Glasgow, a PgCert in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion from the University of Hertfordshire, a Life Coaching Diploma, and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy, Lindy has a Certificate in Executive Coaching endorsed by the Board of Executive and Professional Education, University of Cambridge.
